Happy Father's Day!

We want to wish all fathers a Happy Father's Day today. We hope they enjoy a special time with their families.

Many fathers want the best for their children and their wives. We recently read a blog written by Jane Hansen Hoyt, president and CEO of Aglow International. She wrote about how she and her husband kept moving until they finally moved into a town home with a beautiful view.

Just like men want the best, God wants the best for His children, too. Jane Hansen Hoyt has wonderful insights. Read her blog post here called, A Room With A View:

Have you wondered, Where in the world is Jane Hansen Hoyt? It seems my life has been one of constant travel since the last blog post in April.  I have missed sharing my heart with you, so let me share with you now, some of my journey.
As April drew to a close, Kay Rogers, Tony, and I boarded a plane to Israel.  We had a few days to adjust to the time difference before 194 Aglow men and women from 18 nations joined us on our 12th trip into the Holy Land.  This year we had a bus filled with French speaking people from several nations,   a group from China and a group from Japan.  145 of those who travelled with us were first timers to Israel.   Among those first timers was a group of 15 young people that represented the Generations Group!  Can you picture us all together that first morning, on two boats tied together out on the Sea of Galilee?  We were singing and dancing….or to put it in the language of the youth….we were rocking out, praising Jesus!  A couple of our tour guides said to us, We wait for Aglow to arrive each year.  No other group is as lively and fun!

This trip truly reflected the international scope of the ministry and displayed beautifully how we might have cultural differences, yet our hearts are united spiritually.  Every trip Aglow has taken to Israel has had its own unique focus and experience.  Each experience has been rich.  We have matured in our call to Israel.   A depth of purpose and understanding has developed. There is a deepening sense of what we are about with a greater piercing into the spirit realm.  Several on the trip mentioned having been to Israel before with other groups, yet none have had the experiences they had with Aglow.  Our guides also commented on the fact that our group doesn’t rush from location to location.  Time is taken to have devotions, teaching, and prayer.  Our time in the land isn’t only about seeing meaningful sites, but about accomplishing the assignment we have been sent for!

Returning from Israel, I was in town for only a few days before leaving to the Regional Conference for Mexico, Panama, Honduras, Costa Rico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua. Upon arriving in Panama City, Panama, I felt particularly stirred about the sequence of my journey.  Having just come from Jerusalem, the seat of world government, I was now in a world gateway region.  The Panama Canal is the world’s foremost waterway, linking the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
You will recall that in January, I shared about 2012 being the year of government, of Divine accomplishments and of God’s government.  In keeping with that, I felt a stirring in my spirit. Some key declarations were to be made over the canal and over this area of the world, to stand against threats of terrorism, to secure the canal, and to protect this significant gateway.
The conference was a wonderful time with my sisters in that part of the world.  Their hearts are on fire for all that God is doing to extend His kingdom through Aglow.  They give themselves tirelessly to this call.
Arriving home from Panama, Tony and I had a few days to pack up our home for a move to a new dwelling.  Can you believe it…another move!  Interestingly enough, in 2004, I moved from a small apartment into the home where Tony and I would later live as husband and wife.  The small apartment I had lived in had no view of anything but a large office building.  Actually, that building blocked a lovely view of Puget Sound, and the Olympic Mountain range.   You may even remember hearing me speak of the room with no view.  Some called it a womb and it surely seemed like a time when something was growing and about to be birthed.

Then in December of 2010, Tony and I moved to a beautiful condo near Puget Sound where we had a limited or partial view.   The first day of June, we moved once again into a lovely town house where we now have a panoramic view of Puget Sound, the mountain range, and even a park with a peaceful pond.

It is not unlike the journey we are on as a ministry.  We have received profound prophetic words about our identity and purpose.  There are times we have felt we can’t see beyond a very limited scope.  But then a partial view comes into sight, a view of God’s intentionality and we began to move towards our future.

As I sat in my blue chair this morning, looking out at such a gorgeous, panoramic view, my heart was overwhelmed at the progression of my personal journey and what I believe is the journey of Aglow in this hour.  He has expanded our vision.  He has moved us from to a place of limited vision to a new location.  It is a place of beauty, a place that speaks of God’s goodness and His favor overwhelming us.  But, most of all, it speaks of His intentionality to fulfill all that was His purpose for Aglow from the beginning.  It is vast.  It is powerful.  It is coming to pass.  Believe!
